4R Technique For Effective Memorization Of The Great Holy Book, Quran


Have you ever dreamt to memorize the great holy book, the Quran? Are you still failing to turn your dream into reality?  Do not worry! One of the must-mention and the best technique to memorize the Quran is following the 4R methodology.
Several kinds of research say have been carried out among 1920 children and the result came out too good. Do you think what such a great methodology is and what to do with 4R? It is all about Read, Repeat, Retain and Remember. When you apply this in every verse, it is easy to bring your dream in reality. However, you should find some internal techniques and make the best out of it to use the methodology in memorizing Quran. Remember that it is the gradual process and you need to be patient and focused to achieve in it.
Read
First R says about reading! You need to focus on every single verse that you have to memories. Read the same verse multiple times. You have to read the same verse at least 6 to 10 times and get familiarize yourself completely in the verse. This will make the words to get settled in your memory. Now, you can try to recite them without looking in the book. When you cannot pronounce the words correctly, it means that you need more practice and starts reading the verse again.
The time that is taken or the efforts needed will be based on the capability you have regarding memorizing. Repeat the same for all the verses and get every word correctly in your mind. The goal you need to remember in this stage is all about the fluently reciting the entire verse without any fillers or errors. Once you achieve your goal, you can just move on to the next verse.
Repeat
The second R insists you repeat! Now, you might be strong by memorizing verse by verse. So, it is time to advance in the memorization process. You should try to recite several verses fluently. Initially, you might slip when you are reciting, but it is fine. You need to go ahead and try to recite the entire verse that you have come across so far. Even when you achieve fluency in reciting several verses, you need to recite them for at least 6 to 10 times.
This will enhance the power to retain in your memory for a longer time. Here, to avoid looking inside when you struggle to recite. When you do not struggle and get fluency in reciting the verses, you can stop with it. This practice will enhance long term memory as well.
Retain
The third R is about retaining what you have memorized so far! It is not only important to memorize the Quran, but you need to retain them. When you do not take a step to retain the words in your memory, the first verse will disappear when you are trying to memorizing the last verse. The best thing that you can do is recite the entire verse in the Quran up to which you have learned in every morning.  At least three times you need to repeat it and this makes the verse remain in your mind. Also, you can set some regular revision time to revise the entire Quran at least ones in a week. This is will solidify your memory and the verse will not leave out even if for years.
Remember
The last and final R is all about remembering! This is simple to say, but hard to practice. However, this is also a fruitful area in the process of memorizing. You have spent enough effort to recite the Quran. So, you need to remember them for a lifetime. Generally, the human mind will start forgetting things, if it is not though off for a longer period. This is applicable to the Quran as well. When you need to remember the Quran, it is possible only when you revise them frequently. You should spend at least a few minutes to recollect the verse and words in the Quran. When you struggle to recite, read it and keep reciting it.
Some rule to memorize
v  You should memorize at least two pages in a day. One should be after Fajr and the other after Asr or Maghrib.
v  When you need to make the memorization easier, you need to start them from Sura Naas and finish it within SuraFatihah. When you have completed memorizing, the revision period should be from Surah Baqarah to Sura Naas.
v  It is good to follow the same book or print to memorize the Quran. This will help you to memorize easily and you can also know where you have left. So, the need for searching and deviating in concentration will be reduced.
v  You should be concentrated completely on the Quran and should not keep thinking of any additional things.
v  Be careful in reciting as you need to recite in the right order and each word should be crystal clear in the pronunciation.
v  When you do not practice regularly, you will have deviated from the thoughts. So, every day you need to allocate some time just for memorizing the Quran. Also, you should be enough dedicated and work smart for memorizing the Quran.
